Facility Safety Improvements

Regardless of industry or type of business, the most valuable asset a business can have is it’s employees. We believe in the importance of workplace safety, demonstrated by our recognition through the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (S.H.A.R.P.). This recognition, given by OSHA, has been held by R-V since 2007 with biennial renewals to validate a continued prioritization of workplace safety. In fact, less than 60 companies in the entire state of Pennsylvania hold this recognition because of the stringent requirements for workplace safety.

The same processes and safeguarding measures that have allowed our company to become a pillar of safety are brought by our engineering services team to our customer’s facilities. Through a 5-step process, we identify all hazards at a facility and categorize their severity to create a process that will mitigate risks with safeguarding initiatives.

As our history of SHARP Certification indicates, our division knows how to effectively create safe manufacturing environments. We take what we’ve learned and are able to apply it to any of the different industries we serve. Any safeguarding process begins with a consultation, where we meet with all stakeholders in the safeguarding initiatives.

Including equipment maintenance personnel, machine operations, engineering, and operations in the initial consult is a vital component of a successful safeguarding project because each team member is capable of identifying the required features of the safeguards. For example, a machine operator’s opinion of the practicality and functionality of a moveable guard must be considered to maintain machine and plant efficiency.
